5 Things You Can Do at Home

This is not a typical springtime – like residents of many other states, Ohioans have been spending a lot more time at home, as ordered by the governor. And when you can’t go out, you have to think of ways to entertain yourself at home. If you’ve already binge-watched all of your favorite Netflix shows, we’ve got some tips on what to do next!

1. Start a new hobby.

Thanks to the internet, most of us are lucky enough to have access to high-quality resources that can help us learn something new. Learn a new language or a new craft, or enroll in an online cooking class (and then when it’s safe to do so, you can invite your friends over for a dinner party).

2. Do a deep clean.

Cluttered spaces can negatively affect stress levels, so spend some time getting organized and cleaning. This is a great time to tackle chores like dusting the blinds, cleaning the windows, and cleaning the inside of the refrigerator.

3. Catch up on “adulting” tasks.

Whether it's filing your taxes, updating your insurance policy, or some other task that could be considered “adulting,” now’s the time to do it. Crossing an item off your to-do list may help you feel calmer during this stressful time.

4. Give your space a fresh look.

A few new throw pillows, a new comforter, or a colorful kitchen rug can brighten up your living space. And you don’t need to leave the house to add home decor – just order online!

5. Relax!

Your home should be a place to rest, rejuvenate, and recharge. So, be sure to dedicate plenty of time to self-care – reading, DIY facials, video chat with friends, etc.
